Meet Our Speakers


Cathy Peifer		 Cathy Peifer has been speaking with Sisters in Christ since its inception in 2001. Cathy and her husband Rick have been married for 21 years and have two daughters. She has lived in Lancaster County all her life. Cathy is an avid supporter of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation since 2001 when her oldest daughter, Victoria, passed away from an inoperable brain tumor. Cathy holds Proverbs 3:5-6 very close to her heart. “Trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” (NIV)

Joni Rogan		 Joni Rogan, our Emcee, is originally from Nebraska and Colorado, moving to Lancaster County nine years ago. She is the mother of three sons and a daughter. Joni has been married to her husband, John, for 18 years. To Joni, Philippians 3:13-14 is a very special verse, “Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus!” (NIV)

Jean Ross		 Jean Ross, the other originator of Sisters in Christ grew up in Ridley Park, PA, but moved to Lancaster County as a college student and never left. Jean has been married for 23 years to her husband, Rick, and is the mother of three sons. She works part time as a nurse and has had a heart for special needs kids since her youngest son, Mark, was injured when he was almost two years old. Jean says, “God rescued me from my sadness over Mark and has given me back my joy, and I want to share that with others!”. A current life verse for Jean is Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (NIV)

Dannel Wissler		 Dannel became a believer in Jesus Christ at the age of 18. In her words, “It is exciting and humbling to look back and see how God has walked with me through every season.” As a wife of 21 years and mother of 4, Deuteronomy 33:27 (the eternal God is our refuge and strength and underneath is the everlasting arms) has been a comfort and motivator. Her passion is for women and teenage girls to hear the truth of God’s Word to His glory.

Tawn Battiste		 Tawn Battiste returns to Sisters in Christ after taking one year off. She lives in Peach Bottom, PA with her husband of 28 years. She has four children. Her oldest daughter is a Special Ed teacher in Lancaster. Her oldest son is in the Navy stationed in Pearl Harbor. She also has a senior in high school and an eighth grader. She teaches 5th grade at Quarryville Elementary school. Her life verse is Psalm 37:4. Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.
